Colostrum Prime Life contains a minimum of 35% immunoglobulins, double the strength of typical colostrum products, because it comes from the first milking.

Colostrum Prime Life is collected within 12 hours of calving from American, pasture-fed cows. The colostrum undergoes low-temperature processing along with testing to ensure that the difference colostrum immunoglobulin fractions retain their biological activity and are not denatured.

Colostrum Prime Life also contains proline-rich polypeptides (PRPs), a special class of polypeptides shown to have immune modulation and gastrointestinal health-promoting properties.

Colostrum Prime Life is also rich in lactoferrin, an important iron building glycoprotein found naturally in tears and saliva that supports immune function and promotes the growth of the good bacteria.

Colostrum prime Life is free of hormone rBGH, antibiotics pesticides

Q. What is Colostrum?
A.Colostrum is a milky fluid that comes from the breasts of humans, cows, and other mammals the first few days after giving birth, before true milk appears. It contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and proteins (antibodies) that fight disease-causing agents such as bacteria and viruses. Antibody levels in colostrums can be 100 times higher than levels in regular cow’s milk.

Q.Why Bovine (Cow) Colostrum?
A.Research has shown that the immune and growth factors in cow’s colostrum are nearly identical to those in human colostrum. Since bovine colostrum is not species-specific, it works effectively in humans as well as other animals.

Q.Why Do I Need Colostrum, as an Adult?
A.Once puberty has passed, our bodies begin the aging process by gradually producing less of the immune and growth factors that help us fight off disease and heal damaged body tissue. Colostrum is the only natural source of these life-giving components. Research has shown that colostrum not only supports immune function, but can help enhance fat utilization for fuel and optimize cellular reproduction). As far as we know, no other substance on the planet can provide all of these marvelous benefits.

Q.How Safe Is Colostrum?
A.Colostrum is a natural food that has been used for years as a food supplement.

Q.What do Ig and IgG mean?
A.Ig is an abbreviation for immunoglobulin (antibody). Five types of immunoglobulins are present in colostrum, specifically IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, & IgM. A quick harvest ensures the highest levels of immunoglobulins and other immune factors. These energizing elements in colostrum have been scientifically proven to be anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory in nature, thereby giving a healthy boost to the immune system when consumed.
Lab tests on the colostrum products that we sell either measure the total immunoglobulin percentage (IgA, IgD, IgE, IgM, and IgG) or just measure the IgG percentage. A lab test that measures the total Ig percentage will generally run 2% to 3% higher than a test for just the IgG percentage because the total includes all of the Ig factors. Many labs measure just the IgG content, feeling that the tests are more accurate because the highest and most predominant Ig factor in colostrum is IgG.

Q.What If I’m Lactose Intolerant?
A.The amount of lactose in colostrum is scant – 163 mg. in two capsules compared to 13,000 mg. in one 8-oz. glass of milk. Any discomfort would more likely be a sign that colostrum is working effectively in the digestive tract, but please consult your health care practitioner if discomfort persists or if it is serious.

Q.What If I’m pregnant or nursing?
A.Consult with your medical professional prior to taking any prescription drugs, over the counter medications, herbs or nutritional supplements.

Q.Can I Give Colostrum to my Children?
A.Pediatricians recommend that infants, who have not been breastfed, be given colostrum to supplement their formula. We suggest that you consult with your pediatrician for proper dosage information. If your pediatrician is not aware of the importance of supplementing with colostrum, the Center for Nutritional Research can provide him/her with information.

Q.How Much Should I Take?
A.Each person is unique (age, weight, health problems) as to the amount of colostrum needed to achieve an optimal benefit. Remember, colostrum is a food and can safely be taken when used as recommended on the labelAnchor.

Q.Can I Take Colostrum With Other Supplements and Medications?
A.Colostrum works in the digestive tract so that all substances taken internally (food, herbs, natural healing substances, and medications) will become more bio- available to the body. Although colostrum has no known drug interactions, see your health care practitioner prior to use, as you may find that the other supplements and medications that you are taking will have a more pronounced effect.

Q.Are There any Side Effects from Taking Colostrum?
A.Side effects are very rare. If you experience any serious or undesirable side effects stop taking immediately. Due to its detoxifying nature, certain side effects may occur. It’s possible for these toxins to produce minor rashes, bowel changes or flu-like symptoms until they are cleansed from the body. Most side effects stem from other supplements or medications that that are taken with the colostrum that are finally being utilized by the body. If taking any prescription drugs, over the counter medications, herbs or nutritional supplements, consult with your health care provider so that he can adjust or re-evaluate your supplements or medication needs.

Q.I’m a vegetarian. Isn’t Colostrum an Animal Food?
A.Although colostrum is an animal food, it has been an important part of the strict vegan diet of India’s Hindu Rishis (spiritual leaders) for thousands of years. In present day India, the milkman delivers colostrum to the wealthy Vegans. It’s interesting that cows are sacred in India, a country where vegetarianism is most prevalent.

Q.Is Colostrum Nature’s Antibody?
A.Colostrum has been shown to have many beneficial health effects. However, taking colostrum cannot change the inherent genetics of an individual. Colostrum supplementation does not change our DNA; our parents predetermine our genetic make-up. With any nutritional or dietary supplementation, the hope is to create a healthy being to discourage the proliferation of unhealthy cells. There are numerous studies that exist describing the health benefits of colostrum, and the advantages that are derived from the use of this supplement.
Why is Some Colostrum De-fatted? Does This Minimize the Growth Factors? There are no growth factors in the fat content of colostrum. Growth factors are proteins and are not a part of the fat. De-fatting colostrum is important to keep the colostrum from going rancid on the shelf.

Q.Why is Colostrum Better if it is Collected Over 48 Hours?
A.A high level of IgG (immunoglobulin) may be most important for a newborn calf as it is their sole source of immune protection at birth; however, for humans taking colostrum as a supplement, the level of IgG in a colostrum product is not a benchmark of quality. Although the first milking is higher in IgG, it is subsequently lower in many other important healing components, such as lactoferrin and PRP. In order to obtain a colostrum product that is perfectly balanced, with significant amounts of at least 90 beneficial components found naturally in colostrum, it should be collected over the first 48 hours.

Q.Why Can’t I Get Colostrum From A Local Farmer?
A.You can. It needs to be refrigerated and consumed before it spoils. Raw colostrum is not pasteurized and contains immune factors from just one cow. This differs from processed colostrum, which is concentrated and provides a broad base of immune factors that have been pooled from hundreds and sometimes thousands of cows.

Q.Why Should Colostrum be fresh processed (not frozen)?
A.Quality dairy products, including colostrum, are never frozen because it changes the composition. This is noticeable with the look and taste of milk when you freeze and thaw it. Colostrum’s effectiveness is greatly changed in this freezing/thawing process. Check to make sure your colostrum is fresh processed and never frozen.

Q.What precautions should I take when using colostrum in conjunction with medications and/or prescriptions?
A. When using colostrum, wait least two hours before or after taking any medication or prescription. Any person using medications needs to closely monitor their dosage with their physician. In some cases, when the health of the individual improves, medications correspondingly need to be reduced. If prescriptions are not closely monitored there could be the possibility of overdosing, especially if insulin is being used.
