Untouched nature mesmerizes me how it lives in harmony within itself; plants, animals and microorganisms, all interwined in a sometimes chaotic yet cynical unity. This perspective shaped my childhood and evolved into a quest for knowledge of ethnobotany (study of the relationships between peoples and plants). I'm humbled that this exploration allowed me to build a line of natural health products.
At MRM, we are inspired by nature and utilize science as a tool to learn, incorporate, support and educate what the natural world has to offer.
Respectfully, these Superfoods are the foods our ancestors thrived on, not today's foods we survive on.
Many Thanks, Mark Olson Founder of MRM

What is Organic Mesquite Powder?
The Mesquite Powder is produced from tree ripened seedpods which have been compressed and slowly dehydrated into a sweet, fine powder. The seedpods offer valuable fiber and protein to this deliciously satiating powder. Among the other nutrients, there are beneficial minerals present such as potassium, calcium and iron.
Mesquite has historically been used as a thickening agent in soups, hot cereals, puddings, and beverages offering a sweet nutty flavor. It can be added for a light sweetness or as a flavor enhancer in salads, soups, smoothies, breads and other baked goods.
Benefits
Obtaining sufficient fiber in one’s diet is important as it supports digestive functions. In a combination of protein and fiber, this offers a useful satiety effect when maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Mesquite powder is a source of protein providing the useful amino acids that our bodies need for numerous functions. These amino acids are the building blocks of healthy lean muscle and can help support an active immune system.** With adequate protein intake, our bodies are able to properly replicate our precious DNA and provide the needed energy to take on the day.
Macrominerals, such calcium and potassium, are minerals which our bodies need large amounts of. These minerals offer support to properly maintain our structural systems such as muscle and bone health. In addition to being great electrolytes, potassium assists in proper fluid balance and muscle and nerve function while calcium also supports bone and immune system health. Iron is a necessary micromineral as it is involved with energy metabolism and a part of red blood cells which carry oxygen throughout the body.
Source
The mesquite tree is an extremely hardy plant found in Peru. It is wholly useful from its seedpods being a nutritive resource to its hard wood being shelter or firewood. Ancient tribes relied on the sweet pods as a staple to their diet and a commodity for trade. It is a vital resource for those dwelling in the arid and semi-arid environments as it is adapted by having a long taproot system to reach the hidden water table.
